Lanberg DSP1 switches - a response to growing network demands

News
Date of publication : March 30, 2026

With the growing demands placed on modern wired networks, the new Lanberg DSP1 switch series is being added to the portfolio, including the DSP1-1005 and DSP1-1008 models. These devices are designed for users who need a simple, stable, and modern solution for expanding a LAN network — whether at home, in the office, or in straightforward technical installations. In practice, the new series addresses what is now expected from basic network infrastructure: higher throughput, easy installation, and reliable operation.

The new models are a natural step forward compared to older, less capable solutions. User requirements continue to grow — today, a single network often supports more computers, IP cameras, access points, smart TVs, IoT devices, and NAS storage at the same time. That is why simpler and less efficient models are gradually no longer sufficient for current market needs and are being discontinued in favor of newer designs offering better performance and greater user convenience.

The Lanberg DSP1-1005 and DSP1-1008 models offer 5 and 8 RJ45 ports respectively, with 10/100/1000 Mb/s speeds, enabling fast and stable data transmission within a local network. The devices operate in a plug-and-play model, so they require no configuration — simply connect the power supply and network cables to immediately expand the LAN infrastructure. The switches also support automatic speed and duplex negotiation, automatic MDI/MDI-X, as well as IEEE 802.3, 802.3u, 802.3ab, and IEEE 802.3x Flow Control standards, ensuring stable operation and efficient communication between connected devices.

The DSP1 series has been developed with various deployment scenarios in mind. The DSP1-1005 will be a good choice where a compact network expansion with a few additional ports is needed, while the DSP1-1008 meets the needs of users who want to connect more devices and gain greater flexibility when planning their infrastructure.

Basic information about the Lanberg DSP1 series:

  • unmanaged switches for LAN expansion,
  • 5-port and 8-port variants,
  • quick plug-and-play installation,
  • compact desktop form factor,
  • stable operation and silent passive cooling,
  • suitable for home, office, IP surveillance, and simple technical installations.
