In the work of an installer and network technician, where speed and repeatability matter, the right shears can genuinely streamline end-prep. The Lanberg NT-0106 model is designed for working with reinforcing elements used in the construction of a fiber optic cable. With them, it’s easier and safer to cut off layers that make further processing of the fiber optic link more difficult. It’s a practical addition to the toolkit when terminating and preparing installations: from distribution panels to cabinets and subscriber points, whenever you need to quickly and reliably trim elements without fraying.
By expanding the tool portfolio with accessories for installing fiber optics, Lanberg makes it possible to put together a set for full installation support – from cable preparation to working with hardware and accessories, where efficient Kevlar cutting and other reinforcements is key.
Lanberg NT-0106 are specialist scissors created with applications in fiber optic installations in mind. They are lightweight, handy, and comfortable for everyday use – while also durable, as they are made of steel with high resistance, with hardened stainless steel components in the working section. The design was engineered so that the tool is intended for trimming difficult reinforcements: Kevlar (including Kevlar fiber), aramid, as well as other components such as FRP.

The blade used provides sharpness and control over the cut – in practice it delivers precise cutting and reduces “pulling” of the material. This matters when you need to cut reinforcing elements quickly and cleanly, without damaging the other layers of the cable. In addition, the shears are equipped with a special serrated blade, which helps guide the material steadily and maintain consistency. The comfortable handle has an ergonomic profile, so the tool sits well in the hand even during repeated use.

These are Kevlar shears precisely designed for the job: cutting fibers and working with reinforcing fiber in cables. In practice, they are ideal for cutting components found in fiber optic installations such as aramid fibers – where ordinary scissors fail. The product has a long service life, making it suitable both for service work and on-site installations.
