LACK OF POWER WILL NOT BE AN ISSUE: |
A RELIABLE SOLUTION WITHOUT COMPROMISES - WITH REAL POE BUDGET OF 120 WThe switch is fitted with a total of 10 RJ-45 ports, including 8 PoE+ (Fast Ethernet) and 2 Uplink (Gigabit Ethernet) ports. The well-thought-out design and attention to details and quality of components enable the user to achieve up to 120 W of real power for the end-devices, which translates into the simultaneous connection of:
The 2 remaining (Uplink) ports are dedicated to transferring data traffic between 8 PoE+ ports and external devices. In the case of surveillance/control systems, this is particularly useful as it allows the user to simultaneously play the recording(s) from the IP cameras on the NVR and share it further, e.g., in the local network or on the Internet. |
INTELLIGENT POE PORT DISCONNECT FEATUREIn most commercially available switches with a small number of ports, it is not entirely clear how they will behave when the available PoE budget is exceeded. There are several possibilities: the one that exceeds the budget or a random port or the recently connected one will be disconnected. In the last case, what will be their order after a power outage and restoration when all cables are simultaneously connected to the switch? Lanberg has introduced an innovative solution in the RS series switches that eliminates all doubts about the mechanics of RJ-45 ports. When the PoE budget is exceeded (e.g., due to a device connected to port 1), the switch will start disconnecting the PoE ports from the highest numbered one until the sum of loads does not exceed the available budget while keeping the remaining ports intact. The port(s) that will be disconnected will be alternately switched off and on. This functionality is primarily dedicated to demanding applications that emphasize safety and continuity of operation, requiring some devices to work continuously regardless of the situation. In such cases, Lanberg switches will help the user to safeguard sensitive devices by connecting them to the port with the lowest number. |
EXTEND MODE UP TO 250 METERSBy default, the standard switches ensure that the devices can operate at distances of up to 100 m on a single Ethernet cable. However, sometimes, it turns out that a unique solution beyond the standard is required when developing cabling and network structure due to the extensive core network and complex environment. In the case of surveillance systems, this is quite a common problem, resulting from the too-long distance between the distribution device and the end-device. Lanberg switches have a feature that enables data transmission (max. 10 Mbps) and PoE+ power supply up to 250 m on a single cable section. Just toggle the switch position to „PoE+ Extend 250 m” on the housing to ensure the long-distance operation for ports 1 ~ 8. The solution has been introduced for surveillance, IP, and access control systems, especially if the power equipment is located outside without the possibility of installing additional network distribution points. |
4 kV ESD PROTECTIONThe switch itself, as well as the devices connected to it, are repeatedly exposed to various dangers, including electrostatic discharges that can flow through both the power and network cables. With the safety of both the devices and their users in mind, Lanberg has equipped the switch with an integrated discharge protection system that guarantees 4 kV protection for all ports, effectively reducing their damage due to a surge in voltage. Under standard conditions, the network operation will continue without interruptions, just like the switch. At the same time, the user gains the safety of the device and infrastructure. |
INSTALLATION KIT INCLUDED - RACKMOUNT EARS FOR 10" & 19" CABINETSThe series of RS switches is characterized not only by the quality of manufacturing, simplicity of use, the functionality of the device but also by complementarity in installation and supplied accessories. Most of the small switches available on the market are supplied for desktop installation or implementation within 19" Rack cabinets. Some manufacturers forget about users wishing to incorporate their products into smaller home or SOHO networks. This is crucial, especially when the switches have a small number of ports and compact housing. As a result, the Lanberg switches can be mounted not only in 19" Rack cabinets but also in smaller ones, such as 10". Lanberg added a set of accessories for flexible installation of the switches. The RSFE-8P-2GE-120 has been provided with separate mounting ears for 10" and 19" Rack cabinets, as well as a healthy supply of screws (except for M6). This enables a wider range of applications and greater freedom of installation of the RS series switches. |
