The switch is an indispensable active device in any network structure, using transmission through structured cabling. RSGE-16 is dedicated to all installations: home, business, low-current, monitoring, IP, VoIP, cable TV networks.

Its suitable housing and included brackets allow it to be installed in server racks, the functions provided allow for versatile use in any configuration, the bus and microcircuit used provide speed in the Gigabit Ethernet standard.

All this makes it dedicated for use in demanding and extensive networks.

EXTEND MODE UP TO 250 METERS

Standard switches, according to the standard, provide the ability for devices to operate up to 100 meters on a single cable run. However, sometimes it turns out that due to the extensive backbone network and complex environment, a custom solution that goes beyond the standard is required during the development of cabling and networking. In the case of monitoring solutions, this is a fairly common problem, most often due to the excessive distance between the distribution device and the end device.

Lanberg switches have a feature that allows data transmission (max. 10 Mbps) up to 250 m on a single section of cable. Simply switch the button to the "Extend 250 m" position on the housing to ensure operation over a longer distance.

The solution was introduced for monitoring and IP as well as access control systems, especially if the end devices are located outdoors without the possibility of installing additional network distribution points.

PORT SEPARATION FUNCTION - VLAN

VLAN is a feature with a wide range of capabilities, from separating or linking several logical networks within another, larger physical network to separating ports from one another. This feature is mainly used in configurable switches, but is rarely found in budget, let alone unmanaged solutions.

Lanberg switches have a feature that allows all standard ports to be separated from each other (1 ~ 14), while allowing each port to transmit only with Uplink ports (15 ~ 16). Simply switch the button to the "VLAN" position on the chassis to ensure port separation.

The solution was introduced to ensure effective protection of devices in monitoring, alarm and access control systems. Especially where security always stands at the 1st place.

2 kV surge protection.

The switch itself, as well as the devices connected to it, are repeatedly exposed to various hazards, including power discharges that can flow through both power and network cables.

With the safety of the devices as well as their users in mind, Lanberg has equipped the switch with an integrated discharge protection circuit, guaranteeing 2 kV protection for all ports, effectively reducing their damage due to surges.

Under standard conditions, network operation will continue uninterrupted, the switch will continue to work without any interruptions, and the user gains the safety of the device's operation, as well as the infrastructure.

MOUNTING KIT INCLUDED - EARS FOR 10" & 19"

The RS switch series is characterized not only by the quality of workmanship, simplicity of use, functionality of the device, but also complementarity in terms of mounting and supplied accessories where possible.

Most of the available small switches on the market are supplied for free-standing or 19" standard mounting. Some manufacturers forget about users who want to use their products in smaller home or SOHO installations. And especially where the switches have a small number of ports and thus a small form factor. Thus, they can be mounted not only in cabinets with the mentioned 19" size, but also in those smaller, such as 10".

Lanberg has introduced a set of accessories for versatile mounting of its switches. The RSGE-16 comes with separate mounting ears for 10" and 19" cabinets, as well as a set of mounting screws (except for M6). This allows wider use and greater freedom of installation of RS series switches.
