
The SFP1-BIDI-LU module enables bidirectional data transmission over a single single-mode fiber. BIDI technology uses two different wavelengths — 1310 nm and 1550 nm — to separate signal transmission and reception within the same optical path.
Reducing the number of required fibers helps make better use of existing fiber-optic infrastructure. This is particularly useful in locations where the number of available fibers is limited or where installing additional cabling would require expansion of the entire route.

The module supports data transmission speeds of up to 1.25 Gb/s, making it suitable for Gigabit Ethernet connections. It enables communication between switches, routers, media converters, and other devices equipped with a compatible SFP port.
Single-mode fiber provides stable data transmission over longer distances and eliminates the limitations typically associated with copper cabling. The solution is suitable for enterprise networks, industrial facilities, surveillance systems, and connections between distribution points.

The Simplex LC connector features a compact design, making it well suited for devices with a high port density. Its small form factor simplifies cable management and enables efficient use of space in telecommunications cabinets and fiber-optic distribution panels.

Two transmission-range variants are available, allowing the module to be selected according to the length of the planned connection. The version with a range of up to 3 km is suitable for shorter links between buildings or network points, while the 20 km variant enables longer-distance fiber-optic connections.
Selecting the appropriate version helps maintain the required signal level and avoids using components with specifications exceeding the actual needs of the infrastructure.

The SFP form factor allows the module to be installed directly in a compatible device. Its hot-swappable design makes it easy to add new connections, change transmission ranges, or adapt the network configuration to current requirements.

BIDI modules are sold in A and B versions and operate only as a complementary A + B pair. The versions have reversed TX and RX wavelengths:
A connection using two modules of the same version will not work.
