The SFP1-BIDI-SU module enables a bidirectional fiber-optic connection using only a single single-mode fiber. BIDI technology uses 1310 nm and 1550 nm wavelengths to separate data transmission and reception, reducing the number of fibers required to establish a connection.
This solution is suitable both for building new fiber links and expanding existing infrastructure. It allows available optical fibers to be used more efficiently without the need for separate fibers for transmission in each direction.

A transmission rate of up to 1.25 Gb/s enables stable Gigabit Ethernet connections between switches, routers, media converters, and other devices equipped with compatible SFP ports.
The module can be used, among other applications, to connect distribution points, devices located in different parts of a building, and infrastructure components situated farther apart. Transmission over single-mode fiber helps maintain signal stability even over longer distances.

The Simplex SC connector makes it easy to connect the module to fiber-optic links terminated with a standard SC connector. This type of connection is commonly used in fiber distribution frames, telecommunications cabinets, and distribution points.

The SFP1-BIDI-SU is available in versions supporting transmission distances of up to 3 km or up to 20 km. This makes it easier to select the appropriate module for both shorter inter-building connections and more extensive fiber-optic links.
The transmission range can be selected according to the link length, the parameters of the fiber used, and the overall optical power budget. This makes it possible to create a solution tailored to the actual network requirements without using a module with an unnecessarily long transmission range.

The compact SFP form factor allows the module to be installed directly in a compatible network device. Hot-swappable operation makes it easier to expand or modify the connection configuration without rebuilding the entire infrastructure.
The SFP1-BIDI-SU is a practical choice wherever Gigabit Ethernet transmission, efficient use of available fibers, and compatibility with commonly used SC connectors are important.
BIDI modules are sold in A and B versions and operate only as a complementary A + B pair. The TX and RX directions are reversed between the two versions:
A connection using two modules of the same version will not work.
